Atelier consists of a retail gallery and a working studio in Nashville, TN where owner Susan Russell and a staff of dedicated artisans create unique fine handcrafted jewelry. Our designs are couture in the true meaning of the word— original (many of our designs are copyrighted), usually one of a kind, and often custom made to the desires of a particular customer. We use the finest available natural gemstones and pearls, and have a wonderful collection of exotic pearls: South Sea pearls in all shapes and colors (Tahitian, Indonesian and Australian), rare Tennessee River pearls, and gorgeous freshwater pearls of every kind. We make jewelry with both beaded and set stones, and can make add a pearl and add a bead jewelry according to your wishes. We look forward to seeing you!

How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Owner Susan Russell fell in love with rocks and fossils as a child at camp during summers in Colorado. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, studied with a silversmith, and takes classes in metalsmithing whenever possible.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our designs are one-of-a-kind and use a wide range of exotic pearls (such as Kasumi and Tennessee River pearls) and natural materials. Our prices are more favorable than those of other jewelry stores because most of our pearls are purchased directly from the pearl farms, and because so much of our jewelry is made in house-- there are no middlemen. Unlike other jewelry stores, we specialize in local jewelry artists. We custom design unique jewelry with our customers, including engagement and wedding rings and other meaningful pieces.
